Marvine passed away at her home in Safford, Graham, Arizona, with her children near, on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Marvine spent the early years of her life in the beautiful White Mountains of northern Arizona. After graduating from Snowflake High School, Marvine moved to the Gila Valley to attend Eastern Arizona College. While in the Gila Valley, she met her future husband, Veldon James Nuttall. A short time later, when he was home on leave from the Army, they were married on June 7, 1943 in Veldons parents home in Safford. Five days later, he was deployed for duty in World War II for 28 months. Marvine was left behind to work and wait for his return to start their family. Most important to Marvine was her family and her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she served in many positions including Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School, and Scouting. Along with her devotion to and love for her family, she was very dedicated to developing the young men of the Gila Valley through her leadership opportunities in the Boy Scouts of America. She served tirelessly until her passing, for over 45 years, as a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America. Marvines main goal was to help young men develop good character and become the leaders of their future.
