Mary P. Baca. 83, of Clifton, Arizona, entered into rest on August 7, 2012 in Tucson. She was born on August 5, 1929 in Conejos, Colorado, to Benjamin and Celina Padilla. She eloped with Gilbert Baca on June 13, 1950 at Lordsburg, NM, they had dated five years prior to marriage. They were later married in Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Morenci. Mary was a member of the Beneficio Propio in Clifton, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked as a waitress for many years in the Clifton and Morenci communities. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her game shows and soap operas. She fought a courageous battle of breast cancer and became a survivor. She is survived by her husband Gilbert of Clifton; Son, Robert (Jackie) Baca of Verde Lee; daughters, Carla (Dan) Abril of Morenci, and Rosanna Alcarez (Gilbert Villescas) of Clifton, and Theresa Corbell of Clifton; brother, Robert (Mary) Padilla of Tucson; sisters, Vangie Madina of Clifton, Linda Jimenez of Phoenix, Stella (Roy) Juvera of Tucson, and Lily Padilla (Tony Noriega) of Tucson; 9 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces & nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; Celina & Benjamin Padilla, sister, Celina Gonzales, and brothers; Pablo & Benjamin Padilla. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Father Martin Atunga as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
