Mary Bartell

October 17, 1959 — October 11, 2009

Mary Bartell Beloved Wife and Mother Mary Annette Bartell blessed our lives on this earth from October 17, 1959 ~ October 11, 2009. She has left our presence and will continue her work in heaven. Daughter of Scott Campbell and Barbra Williams, Mary enjoyed a pleasant and peaceful childhood with her 4 sisters and 4 brothers in Taylorsville, UT where she was born. At an early age she learned and embraced the concept of responsibility, service and learned the importance of family. She lived righteously throughout her life with her kind heart and sweet spirit. On May 21, 1976 she was married to her beloved husband, best friend and eternal companion, Tracy Bartell. During their 33 years of marriage on this earth, she filled her life with love, family, laughter, excitement, compassion, hope, education, faith and charity. Always being the first to lend a hand, to give a smile, offer a hug, and share her optimistic point of view. Mary definitely had a passion for learning and a drive to teach others. She willingly shared her wisdom with anyone willing to listen and eagerly spoke to others about their knowledge, experiences, and welcomed their input. Reading hundreds of books in her lifetime, she obtained knowledge in a wide range of areas and instilled a love of learning in all those around her. Mary had a gift and love for design. She returned to college, graduated with a degree in design and became one of five Certified Kitchen Designers in Utah. Also she became the treasurer of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She had a knack for creating beauty and harmony. Although she achieved many great accomplishments, she humbly expressed that she was most proud of her testimony of the LDS Church, her marriage of 33 years, and her family. She established a close and caring family consisting of her loving husband; son, Bryan; daughter- in-law, Melissa Cain; 3 daughters, Tara, Shana and Sadie, sons- in-law, Benjamin Peretto and Jacob Harris; and 7 grandchildren. Those closest to her were proud of her daily Christ-like actions. Mary Bartell served her loved ones, neighbors, ward, and father in heaven. She inspired those she came in contact with and set a good example for her family and friends. Her legacy will live on through her faith, good works, and posterity. She will always remain in our hearts. Services will be held in memory of her life on Saturday, October 17, 2009, 10:00 am at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 South 3200 West. A viewing will be held Friday, October 16, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Monticello City Cemetery.
