Biography Mary Alice Bianes, 93 formerly of Safford passed away in Tucson on October 3, 2013. Mary was born June 10, 1920 in Hugo, Oklahoma to William H. Kind and Addie C. McKee. She was a resident of Safford from 1945 through 1992 at which time she moved to Tucson. While residing in Safford, Mary took great joy in having the San Jose Mission restored as a mission and being a foster parent. She was also very proud of her custodial/janitorial work and her contract with Valley National Bank. Mary is survived by her children; W. Novella (Billy) Whitehurst, Barbara (Rob) Sullivan, Marilyn Sterling, Myrna Sue, Jennie (Rob) Fuller; stepson, Johnny (Ruth) Bianes; stepdaughter, Irene (Tony) Romero and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Bianes and her parents. A viewing will be conducted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. with Rosary to follow at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Father Rodriguez. Interment to follow at the San Jose Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Online condolences can be extended at www.caldwellfuneralchapel.com
