Matthew G. Barnes Going the Extra Mile Our loving son, brother and friend, Matthew Gordon Barnes, passed away suddenly June 8, 2010. Matt was born May 5, 1976 in Gooding, Idaho. At age 3 he moved with his family to West Jordan, Utah where he grew up and graduated from West Jordan High School in 1994. Matt was a hard worker and very dependable. He earned his Eagle Scout award. For many years he enjoyed working in the auto body industry. Most recently he was employed at Sportsmans Warehouse-Pacific Flyway where he received Employee of the Month a few times. His hobbies included drawing and model building and was very talented at both. Matt adored his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother, Colene Barnes; sisters, Jamie (Todd), Jeniel (Shane); brothers, Justin (Nikki), and Zack. He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Barnes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Copper Hills 2nd Ward, 5176 West Parr Drive (8440 South). Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
