Matthew Steven Sortor Gone Surfing Matthew Steven Sortor returned home to his Heavenly Father November 10, 2007, freed from earthly pain and sorrows. Born February 1, 1977 to Steve and Diane Sortor. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. Matt had a big, gentle heart and was always willing to help a friend and loved to have fun. He was a great athlete who loved to swim and play water-polo. He was a talented surfer, snowboarder, basketball player and fisherman, and was a skilled craftsman. He was smart and funny and had a passion for ice cream topped with hot cocoa mix, and Big Gulps. He was a respectful and loving boyfriend and father figure, a beloved son and brother. He was a caring father who loved his daughter more than anything. He is survived by his daughter, Cynarra; stepsons: Tristan and Isaiah; parents; his true love, Erin; brothers: Andy (Diana) and Sam; grandparents, Madeline Sortor, Boyd and Dorothy Bunnell; many more family members and friends who will miss him dearly. We love you Matt. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 29th Ward, 700 West 6300 South. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
