Mercedes Irene Archuleta, Mercy, was 70 years old, she resided in Safford Arizona. Mercedes passed away in her home with her family by her side, on January 23, 2013. Mercedes was born September 24, 1942, in Pueblo, Colorado to Cresencio and Mary Bravo. She had six sisters, Paulie, Bertha, Margaret, Susan, Nancy and Tina. In 1978 she met Esiquio Lozano in Gillett, Wyoming. Mercedes graduated from Pueblo Catholic School in Pueblo, Colorado. She worked for the family business in Pueblo. Her favorite hobbies were playing bingo, softball, and most of all she loved going to the casino. She enjoyed all of her grandkids and her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed listening to her scanner, raising her family and loved preparing amazing food. She is survived by Esiquio Lozano of Safford; her sons, Chris L Abeyta, Mark A Abeyta, Michael L Abeyta (Isabel), and John Archuleta (Laura Smith) all of Safford; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy, Susan and Tina. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jean Abeyta; son, Tommy Archuleta; parents, Cresencio and Mary Bravo, and her sisters, Paulie, Bertha, and Margaret. The Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with a viewing one hour prior. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013. Final interment will be in the Thatcher cemetery.
