Merceline Anderson, a devoted soul who dedicated 33 years of her life to serving at San Carlos Apache Tribe Youth Home, peacefully passed away on July 26, 2024 in Globe, Arizona. Her life will be celebrated and remembered by all whose hearts she touched.
Born on September 26, 1940, Merceline's journey was one filled with warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication. After graduating from Ft. Thomas High School and attending Bible College, she embarked on a career that reflected her deep commitment to helping others.
Merceline's work at the San Carlos Apache Tribe Youth Home exemplified her caring nature and desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals in need. Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to resonate within the community she served for over three decades.
Beyond her professional life, Merceline found joy in simple pleasures such as sewing and singing gospel songs. These hobbies not only brought her personal fulfillment but also radiated a sense of peace and harmony to those around her.
Preceding Merceline in death are her husband George Williams, Sr., daughters Baby Girl Williams and Rachel Williams, son George Williams, Jr., parents Paul and Maggie Anderson, as well as siblings Ned Anderson, Sr., Rosarita Wolf, Paul Anderson, Jr., Edward Anderson, Sr., Floyd Anderson, Sr., Matthew Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, and Frederick Anderson, Sr.
Merceline leaves behind a legacy that continues through her surviving family and friends: son Paul (Cherrill) Williams, Jr., son James Williams, Sr., sister Beatrice Lucero, brothers Leon Anderson, Sr. and Terry (Rebecca) Anderson, Sr., along with 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and Godchildren Paula Tarango, Tai Kitcheyan, and Jerrick Anderson – each one a testament to the impact she had on countless lives.
The services honoring Merceline's life will be held at various locations as follows: A Viewing on August 2nd at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel located1 in Safford from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM; another Viewing on August 3rd at House of God in Bylas from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM; followed by a Funeral Service at House of God in Bylas at 10:00 AM; with Burial rites taking place at Navajo Point in Bylas from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Merceline's light may have dimmed here on earth but it now shines eternally in the heavens above. May her spirit find rest and may her memory live on through all those who were touched by her presence.
