Merlan J Thorsen 1940 ~ 2010 Merlan J Thorsen passed away July 19, 2010 at home. Born July 30, 1940 in Glenwood, Utah, to Cloyde and Nelda Merkely Thorsen. Went to Richfield High School. Married Gayla, later divorced. Lived in Magna. Worked 23 years at the Tooele Army Depot. Member of the LDS Church. Loved fishing. Survived by son, Gene; 3 grandchildren; siblings, Hyrum (Anita), Janice, Neldon (Joanne), Coy, Marvan (Hellen). Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Dale and Don. A funeral will be held Friday, July 23, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Magna Elk Run Ward, 3610 South 8400 West, where friends and family may call Thursday at the church, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Pleasant Green Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
