Michael L. Daly, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, was born on May 23, 1945, in Fairmont, Minnesota. He passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Safford, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Michael was a man of strong conviction, living his life with a steadfast commitment to his faith as a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. He joyously proclaimed his favorite saying, "Praise the Lord," through his daily actions and unwavering beliefs. A proud member of the VFW, American Legion, NRA, and Vietnam Vets, he served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1975. His military service was a point of pride for him, and he carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life.
Educated at Truman High School in Minnesota, Michael continued to deepen his understanding of faith by graduating from Faith Bible Institute with a Bible degree in 2019. His journey of faith was complemented by his passion for flying, fishing and hunting, activities that brought him great joy and tranquility.
On August 1, 1981, Michael married the love of his life, Gail Carroll, in Anchorage, Alaska. Their union was marked by an enduring partnership filled with mutual respect, love, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they built a family that encompasses not only their immediate children but also an extended family filled with cherished memories.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Daly; his sons, David Olson and James (Bobbie) Daly; his daughter, Tammy Daly; and his step-sons, Wade (Marizell) and Robert Carroll. He cherished his relationships with his siblings, Randy (Karen) Daly, Mark Daly, Kim Daly, Terrie Hanson, Dawn Curtis, and Pam (John) Akerman. Michael took immense pride in the next generation, leaving behind 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit and values. He was also a proud pet parent to his dogs, Bruno and Brutus, who brought him joy throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, LaVerne Daly; his mother, LaFerne Kiedaisch; and his sister, Linda Grotte. Each of these individuals played a pivotal role in shaping the loving man he became.
Michael’s memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by his heart and spirit. His legacy of living for Jesus, commitment to family, and penchant for spreading joy through simple words and actions will forever remain a guiding light for those who loved him dearly.
