Michael Mendez

Michael Anthony Mendez, 25 of Tucson, left this world too early on January 27, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. He was born February 19, 1992 in Tucson to Jesus Mendez and Rachelle Anne Barriga along with his twin brother, Joseph and his siblings Selena & Trisha Moreno and half brothers Jesus Jr, Tomas and Christian Mendez. Michael was raised in Safford, graduating from Mt. Graham High School in 2010 earning the Graham County Scholastic Recognition Scholarship. After leaving Safford he went to Tucson and attended Pima Community College and worked for the Salvation Army doing whatever he could to help those around him. Michael was known for his good sense of humor, his caring, kindness and consideration for others. He loved being with family and friends. His loved ones remember him for his perseverance, kindness and faith in God. He is survived by his parents, Jesus Mendez and Rachelle Barriga, siblings; Joseph Mendez, Selena and Trisha Moreno, and Jesus Jr. Tomas and Christian Mendez, Aunt Dana Ollick, cousin Celeste Garcia and grandmother Mary Ann Barriga. Michael is preceded in death by his cousin Brandon Garcia, grandfather Tony Barriga, great grandparents Joe and Rachele Armijo and great aunt Nancy Cervantez. A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Rosary being led by Father Robert Rodriguez at 10:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11::00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Solomon with Father Robert Rodriguez as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Solomon Cemetery following services.
