Michael Wright

February 12, 1945 — April 13, 2008

Michael Lee Wright Sr. Pops Mike Wright passed away April 13, 2008 surrounded by those that loved and respected him and will cherish him more and more with each passing day. Born February 12, 1945 to Albert Lee and Valayo Mae Wright, the seventh of nine children. All nine children were very unique and charismatic in their individual ways. To say they grew up in a traditional manner would be an underestimated, boring way to describe their childhood, each of them playing a part in their beautiful family. Mike served in the US Navy from 1957 ~ 1962. Shortly after he met and married the prettiest girl, and love of his life, Jeanette Jean G. Wingelaar. On April 23, 2008 they will have been married for 39 years. Together they shared two children: daughter, Maryann Valayo Wright Tassie, and son, Michael Lee Wright Jr. This family would grow with four grandchildren: Marinda (Goose) Thompson, Dallas (Girlfriend) Wright, Lane (Mountain Man) Stewart, Shyann (Bubble Butt) Stewart; son-in-law, Randy Tassie. As a family we gather together to write an obituary for a loving husband, adored father, fun grandpa, and the favorite brother, uncle, cousin and friend. We have all come to realize there are not enough words to describe what Mike meant to each of us nor the impression he has made and will continue to make on our lives. Some of the words we have heard the past couple of days have been: loving, giving, laughter, kindness and fair. He took in many when they had nowhere to go, helping them when no one else would, and give his last dollar to you if you needed it. He will be missed by his loving wife, Jean; children: Maryann Wright (Randy) Tassie and Michael Lee Wright Jr.; grandchildren: Marinda Thompson, Dallas Wright, Lane Stewart, Shyann Stewart; all of his loving siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Friday, 9-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
