Mikel Mike Dee Looby, 66, of Duncan, AZ, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home in Franklin. He was born on July 15, 1945 in Houston, TX. He married Euthamia Looney on June 12, 1965 at Sweetwater, Texas. Mike attended school in Sweetwater, TX; and he took many business courses there. Mike was a devoted Christian, he shown his love through the service he gave to his family, community, and his country as a U.S. Marine. Mike worked as the manager of the Phelps Dodge Mercantile in Morenci for over 30 years before it became a Bashas' grocery store. He was involved in several community organizations, including Greenlee County Search & Rescue. Greenlee County Sheriffs Posse, NRA Cattlemans Association. He sat on Greenlee's Fair & Racing Commission at the time of his passing. Mike loved his family and grandchildren 1st, horses, and especially his four dogs. He is survived by his wife Euthamia Looby of Duncan; 2 sons, Brian Looby of Colorado and Brice Looby of Duncan; brother, Tommy Looby; two grandchildren, Acacia and Evan Looby of Missouri; one great grandchildren, Zander, of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary Elona Looby, sister, Mary Margaret, and a brother, Ross Looby. A Celebration Service of Mikes life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Greenlee County Fair Building. A BBQ will be served there. Family suggests any donations to go to the Greenlee County Search and Rescue, P.O. Box 163, Duncan, AZ 85534.
