Natalie Romero

July 27, 1933 — March 28, 2013

Natalie Mazon Romero went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Maundy Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was the youngest of ten children born to Jose Maria Mazon and Rosa De Lima Guardado, on July 27, 1933. Natalie attended schools in Phoenix, Arizona. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida. In 1951 she married Robert S. Romero and from that union she had nine children; seven girls and two boys. Natalie was a wonderful mother, a homemaker and was an excellent cook. Her green chile meat was her specialty. Natalie loved music, especially Mexican music and she was a very good dancer. She often played the piano at her church. She enjoyed spending time with all her children and grandchildren and she loved them all dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Rosa Mazon; all of her siblings, Jose, Enriquetta, Mary, Angela, Lupe, Jack, Gabriel, Rosie and Clemente; her husband, Robert and daughter Barbara Ann Romero; her grandchildren Danielle and Richard Romero; and great granddaughter, Samantha Rose Provencio. She is survived by her children; Arlene (Patrick) Provencio, Sam (Karen) Romero, Gloria (Cornie) Loera, Sylvia Romero, Rosemary (Richard) Salas, Roseanna Romero, Jerry Romero; and Lisa (Danny) Leyvas; Twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Natalie will be held at First United Methodist Church of Safford on Friday April 5th. Viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. and church services will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Holliday officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci at 2:00 p.m.
