Neal Dean Faux 1924 ~ 2008 Neal Dean Faux, age 84, passed away peacefully November 5, 2008 in Murray, Utah. He was the fourth of five children born to Ferry Jabez and Florence Petersen Faux on September 30, 1924 in Moroni, Utah. He grew up and attended school in Spanish Fork, Utah. After graduating from Spanish Fork High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served in the European Theater of WWII. He was a pilot flying the P61 Black Widow night fighter. He married his childhood sweetheart, Marian Elaine Nelson, on September 3, 1946. They are the parents of three children. Neal graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Chemistry. After working in his field for several years, he returned to active duty in the U.S. Air Force flying missions around the world. He retired after 28 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. He loved flying, traveling, fishing, watching sports (especially BYU and the Jazz), cooking, and most of all being with his family. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in scouting, Sunday School, Young Mens, and on the High Council. He helped many young men earn the Eagle Scout award. Survived by his wife, Marian; sons: Nelson (Deborah) and Scott (Roxann); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; children-in-law: Bruce (Marylee) Call and Shirley Faux; sister, Louise Boyack; brothers: Trevor (Carolyn ) and Lawrence (Wanda). Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Adela Olsen; daughter, Barbara Call; grandson, Christian Faux; great-granddaughter, Adalaide Faux. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Taylorsville 4th Ward Chapel, 4310 South 3200 West. Viewings will be held Sunday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Monday at the chapel, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery where a graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
