Nina Talgo-Yoyetewa, 76, of Bylas, entered into rest March 27, 2015 in Globe, AZ. Nina was born August 27, 1938 to Olivar & Eunice Talgo in San Carlos, AZ. Nina attended Phoenix Indian School in Phoenix, AZ graduating in 1958. She was a member of the National Indian Woman's Association, and was a Community Health Representative (CHR). She attended church at the Bylas Lutheran Church, a traditional Apache. She was involved in the CHR Program, education and the elderly aging program in Bylas. She loved sewing, cooking, playing slots at the casino, traveling and most of all, her grandkids. She really loved to introduce non-Indians to Fry bread making and Acorn dumpling/Ash bread at the Phoenix Heard Museum. Nina is survived by her children Phyllis, Darrell Sr., Judith, Calvin Sr., Patricia, Mitchell and Brian, her siblings Audrey, Berlinda, Marthahelle, Ethel, Connie, Serena, JoAnn, Harrison, Stevenson, Olivar Jr., and Elloitt Sr, 12 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer, son Dennis, Larry Talgo, Cordelia Kindelay, Arlene Smith, Starla Yoyetewa, Brandon Hinton and Darrell Yoyetewa, Jr. A Wake for Nina will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 6:00 a.m. with the funeral service being held at 2:00 p.m. at the Stanley Memorial Hall in Bylas. Interment will be in the Black Point Cemetery in Bylas, AZ.
