Norene Mortensen

Gail Norene Mortensen of Virden NM went to be with God on August 21, 2009. Gail was born on January 1, 1956 to Gayle and Wanda Sanders. She was born and raised in the Duncan area where she met and married her high school sweetheart Michael Mortensen on July 21, 1972. In 37 years of marriage they had 4 children; Stephenie (Adan) Garcia; Ronnie (Arina) Mortensen; Kevin (Brianne) Mortensen; Nathan (Kassi) Mortensen and 8 very loved grandchildren. Gail was successful at everything she set out to do. She took pride in her work as an Executive Secretary at the Hidalgo Sheriffs Department for 12 years. She considered everyone a friend and therefore touched the lives of many people in her life. Gail is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, father Gayle Sanders and stepmother Marion Sanders, sister Rhonda (Guy) Clouse, brother Richard (Dianna) Sanders, step-sisters Tina Dorf, Barbara Nichols, and Sheryl Kelly. She was preceded in death and reunited with her mother Wanda Jean Sanders and father-in-law Hans Mortensen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duncan LDS Stake Center, with a family and friends gathering at 8:30 a.m.
