Norma Sanders

Norma Sanders, 87 of Ft. Thomas passed away November 17, 2010 in Safford. Norma was born November 28, 1922 in Safford and graduated from Safford High School in 1940. She married Vearl Sanders and they were blessed with 11 children. Norma was a life long homemaker, wife and mother raising a large family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the scouting program for over 30 years. Norma also served a full time mission in the California San Jose Mission from 1990-1991. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Vearl Sanders, parents Arthur & Lucy Barney, sisters Doris Thatcher and Delsa Barney,and a brother, Eldon Barney. She is survived by her children Terry (Laurel) Sanders, Gary (Cheryl) Sanders, Norman (Nancy) Sanders, Cliff (Vada) Sanders, Kathy (Norman) Walker, Art (Brenda) Sanders, Emalene (Mark) Brown, Jayne (Jim) McRae, Lucy (Greg) Ferrin, Sam (Denise) Sanders, and Jonathan (Marsha) Sanders, brothers Newel, Rex, Roy, Eldon, Gerald and Leland Barney, sisters Elaine Owen, Janet Overson, Joyce Welker and Nadine Taylor, 78 grandchildren and 105 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted by Bishop Jonathan Sanders on Saturday, November 27th at 11 a.m. in the Thatcher LDS Stake Center. Viewing will be held Friday evening at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the Church.
