Ohleen Bryce Leatherwood 1924 ~ 2010 Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Ohleen Bryce Leatherwood, age 85 passed away peacefully on February 6, 2010. Born May 25, 1924 to E.E. and Beatrice Bryce in Oakville, Texas. She was raised in a loving home with eight brothers and sisters. Ohleen married Walter B. Leatherwood May 13, 1944 prior to his leaving to serve in WWII. Most important in Ohleens life were God and family. She and Walter raised their boys, who were the pride and joy of their lives in Utah. After retirement they returned to her family property in East Texas. Following the death of her husband, Ohleen returned to Utah to be near her son and family. Some of the highlights of her life were; charter member of the Kearns Trinity United Methodist Church; secretary for many years on the SLC Womens Bowling Association, and supporter of grand children and great grandchildrens sporting events. Ohleens life was that of constant service and caring for others. Survived by her son, Dan (Ruby); grandchildren: Jeff (Mabelle), Lisa (Lance) Pearson, Susan (Eric) Gant, Travis (Angela); 8 step grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill Bryce, Charles Bryce; two sisters, Betty Ann Burkhalter, Phabreece Havis. Preceded in death by her husband; Walter; son, Bryce; daughter-in-law, Marsha (Dan); brothers, James, and Henry; sisters, Geraldine and Winifred. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 4290 West 5415 South, Kearns, Utah. A viewing will be Tuesday, February 9, 6-8 p.m at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates off of Bengal Blvd. The family would like to thank Cristus Home Health Care, staff at IMC, Draper Rehab and IMC Hospice.
