Olga Sorensen Mom Olga Elaine Willden Sorensen, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died February 1, 2010 of liver cancer at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Valerie Sorensen. Born March 6, 1925 in Scipio, Utah to Henry and Anna Jensen Willden. Married Gail Arthur Sorensen May 4, 1944 in Seattle Washington; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Olga was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions including Relief Society president and temple worker in the Manti Temple. She and her sweetheart served a mission in the Washington DC Temple in 1996-97. Olga held many jobs during her life but was most proud of returning to school after raising her six children. She received her Bachelors and Masters degree in Education and taught 5th and 6th grade in the Granite School District for 17 years. She loved sewing and made quilts and blankets for family and friends that she gave away freely. She shared her gifts with everyone. She brought joy and happiness to all who knew her and had a wonderful sense of humor that she passed on to her family. She is survived by her children: Jane (Jim) Keech, Gaylene (Larry) Didericksen, John (Valerie) Sorensen, Carolyn (Chad) Rappleye, Susan (Eldred) Jensen, Jay (Virginia) Sorensen; sisters, Lois Westenskow and Marianna Harris; and many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Preceded in death by her husband; sons-in-law, Larry Didericksen and Craig Wall; daughter-in-law, Marial Sorensen; parents; sisters: Dorothy Willden, Orthello Christensen, Dellas Christensen; brothers, Mickael and Ernest Willden. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Becca Brough, a granddaughter, for her compassionate service during the last two months of Olgas life. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Harvest Park 1st Ward, 12135 South 4000 West, Riverton, UT. Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. A viewing will also be held Saturday, February 6, 2010, 11 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the Mayfield Ward House prior to interment in the Mayfield Cemetery, Mayfield, UT.
