Orlean Lyn Longhurst Hronek Turner 1918 ~ 2009 Orlean Lyn Longhurst Hronek Turner, age 90, passed away on March 25, 2009. Orlean Longhurst was born in Iona, Idaho to Eliza Frandsen Longhurst and Lester Samuel Longhurst. When she was very small, she moved to Pocatello, Idaho. She had all of her schooling there and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1936. She married Robert L. Hronek on January 31, 1936 and they had four children together. Orlean was Arts and Crafts Director and the Assistant Recreation Director for the city of Pocatello in the 1950's. After her husband died in 1957, she attended Hutchinsons School of Floral Design in Portland, Oregon and became a certified florist. She married J. Boyd Turner in 1959 and moved to Oregon where she took art lessons under several prominent Oregon Artists. In 1969, she moved to Park City, Utah, where she opened a small art shop. For twenty-seven years, she had an art shop at various places on Main Street. She sold her paintings to people from all over the world and became quite famous for her miniatures. She was known as the friendliest person on Main Street, and her children said that customers became instant friends. Orlean was a member of the LDS Church and a life-long Democrat. Mom is survived by three children: Robert L. Hronek of Pocatello, Idaho; Pamela C. Hronek of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Mathew D. Hronek of Salt Lake City and two daughters-in-law: Hazel and Sharon. Grandma O is survived by her grandson Michael and his wife Debra of Boise, Idaho; her great-granddaughters, Annie (Devin), Angela, Jeannette and Gina; her three great-great grandsons, Xavier, Gavin and Jack. Aunt Orlean and Auntie O is also survived by many much-loved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; her two sisters, Flora and Afton; her brother, Herman. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael. A Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A graveside service will immediately follow the Memorial at Valley View Memorial Park at 4335 West 4100 South. Her children would like to invite friends and family to join them for a reception celebrating their mothers life from 12:00-1:30 at the Byde-A-Wyle Hacienda Club House at 3455 South 1185 West.
