Otila Zepeda

Otila R. Zepeda, 79, of Verde Lee, Clifton, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 27, 1932 in Morenci, to Evaristo Rodriguez and Lenore Peru Rodriguez. She was married to Alfonso Zepeda. Otila was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci. She was a member of the Holy Cross Alter and Rosary Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo, go to the casino, poker with the family, traveling and sports. Her favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys, and she loved to listen to Spanish music. Her most meaningful life events were spending time with her children and grandchildren and husband Alfonso. She is survived by her husband Alfonso, of Verde Lee; son, Johnny (Mary) Zepeda; daughters, Debbie Sanchez (Robert Merino) and Anna (Raymond) Salcido; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Evaristo Jr., Johnny, and Margarito; and her sister Minnie. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci, with Rev. Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant. Friends may call on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holy Cross with rosary being recited at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the sacred Heart Cemetery.
