Paul Owen Castor, 62, of Lafayette, Indiana and formerly a resident of Silver City, New Mexico, entered into rest on December 23, 2012. He was born on July 2, 1950. Paul was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He received many awards and recognitions including the Good Conduct Medal, Physical Achievement, Rifle Sharpshooter, Pistol Marksman, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Security Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation. In his spare time Paul enjoyed building models and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his father, William R. Castor and his sisters, Mary R. Castor and Captolla S. Castor. He is survived by his mother, Mable M. Buffenbarger; his daughter, Chasidy M. Reece and his son, Adam P. Castor; his sisters, Francis Vandeventer and Betty Hartley and his brothers, William Castor and James Castor and six grandchildren. Urn burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery in Santa Clara, NM. Military honors will be given by the U.S. Marines.
