Pauline Lutz, 91, of Safford, entered into rest January 30, 2018. She was born November 30, 1926 to Albert Lee and Reannie Mae Reese in Van Buren, Arkansas.
When she was eight years old, her family moved to Pima, AZ. There she lived on Ferrin's Farm helping her father pick cotton. When Pauline was nineteen she fell in love with William "Bill" Lutz and they married in March of 1946. They had six children and an adventurous life journey; from owning a restaurant, traveling to Oregon to harvest berries, caring for others, losing loved ones, and raising a family. Pauline lived it all. She had many hobbies, she loved to cook, quilt, camp, fish, but traveling was her favorite. Pauline was also a dedicated saint of Harvest Tabernacle and assisted in the building of the original church in Safford, AZ.
Pauline is survived by her 6 children: Shirley Prince, Vicky Hilken, Gloria (Jim) Phelps, and Kay (Eddie) Morris of Safford, Wayne Lutz of Ft. Thomas, and Brenda (Bob) Wellnitz of Sandstone, MN. Her 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Betty (Rube) Hammond of Safford, and one sister-in-law, Ruby Watts of Sandy, OR and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Reannie Reese, her husband, William Lutz her siblings, Ruby, Lawrence, Viola, and Bobby, son-in-laws, Lavone Prince and Edwin Hilken, and daughter-in-law, Betty Lutz.
Pauline's Services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at The First Southern Baptist Church in Thatcher, AZ with the viewing beginning at noon and services starting at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Hubbard Cemetery following services.
