Peggy Louise John of Safford entered into eternal life February 21, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. Peggy was born August 8, 1945 in Safford Arizona to Jesse and Louise Rowley joining her older siblings Dale and Beth Ann.
Peggy attended schools in Safford and graduated from Safford High School. She was a very talented pianist and played the organ in church at a very young age. She also loved to dance and attended many church and school dances. Peggy married Johny John in March of 1962. They had five children together. They settled and raised their children in Houston Texas. Peggy held many church positions and was a great teacher in Relief Society and Young Women. More importantly, Peggy led by example. She worked at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy for many years before retiring in 2008 to take care of her mother.
Peggy was a very funny and witty person. She always brightened the room with her good humor and infectious laugh. She had a special place in her heart for Mount Graham. As a child, her father taught her to love the outdoors and she passed that love to her children and grandchildren. She always took them up to Mount Graham to camp or picnic when they would visit. She was so proud of her family and loved to spend time with them.
Peggy is survived by her five children; Lindy (Michael) Persson, Jason (Cathe) John, Justin (Jennifer) John, Lori (Jim) Boren, and Leah (Bo) Guerra, and her sister Beth Ann (Dan) Russell. She has 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Root Rowley, her father Jesse Rowley, brother Dale Rowley, and her granddaughter Abigail John.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Safford Stake Center with Bishop Craig O'Donnal conducting. Interment will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
