Phyllis Joyce Upshaw Phillips, 49, of Bylas, entered into rest on February 10, 2013. She was born on September 13, 1963 in San Carlos, AZ to Reede and Viola Upshaw. Following her graduation from Ft. Thomas High School in 1981 she attended American Indian Bible College for one year. She was a talented seamstress and sewed many beautiful camp dresses. Phyllis was the mother of four children and the grandmother of five grandchildren. The births of each of her children and grandchildren were cherished moments in her life. She was a member of the Light House Assembly of God Church in Bylas. She is preceded in death by her daughter Angel Rose Brown and her brother, Kevin Upshaw Sr. She is survived by her parents, Reede and Viola Upshaw; her daughters, Phylicia Brown and Hope Brown; her sons, Little Michael Brown Jr. and Micah Brown; sisters, Karen Upshaw, Sherry Upshaw, Leola Upshaw and Velva Stanley and five grandchildren with one on the way. A Wake will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 16th at the residence of Reede and Viola Upshaw in Bylas. The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 17 at the Light House Assembly of God Church in Bylas with Pastor Vernon Poncho conducting the services.
