Biography Prajedes Hernandez, 83 of Solomon passed away at her home on May 27, 2010. She was born December 28, 1926 in San Jose, Arizona to Isaias & Angelita Sanchez. She grew up in Sanchez where she obtained her education at the Sanchez schools. She met the love of her life, Raul Hernandez, in 1945 and they were married on December 20, 1947 in Safford. They made their home in Solomon. Prajedes assisted several young mothers with their children and later worked in the Ellsworth Hospital during the late 1960s as a nurses aid. She and Raul purchased the El Charro Restaurant in Safford in 1976. They sold the El Charro in 1979 and opened the La Paloma Restaurant in Solomon. Prajedes was a member of the VFW Post 95 Auxiliary of Solomon and a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She loved to cook and bake, especially wedding cakes for family and friends. Prajedes leaves behind her three daughters Nadine (Ramon) Ruiz of Solomon, Carmela (Tony) Vetturelli of Hemet, CA, Debbie (Angel) Rios of Los Angeles, CA, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband Raul B. Hernandez, son Raul S. Hernandez Jr., brothers Isaias Sanchez, Domingo Sanchez, sisters Catalina Escovedo, Angelita Alvarado and Carmen Ramirez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Solomon. The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the San Jose Cemetery.
