Quintero Lee Gustina, 59, of Byals, also known as "Chief Spook" & "Q", was born on March 28, 1956 to the late Garner & Dottie Gustona in San Carlos, AZ. He entered into rest on June 11, 2015 at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. When Quintero was young he was placed in foster care with a family in Safford who raised him throughout his school years. He attended School in Safford and also took a few college courses as well. While in Safford, Quintero met Molly and had a son, Jeremy Gustina. They later separated and he traveled to Oregon. He met Stephanie and got married and had a daughter, Tasha Gustina and a son, Joseph Gustina. Within a few years they were divorced and Quintero returned to Bylas. Once returning to the reservation he prefered to always go to Safford to hang around. During his time at Safford he met his companion, Roberta Chavez, of 18 years. They went to San Francisco where he became a certified CNA. They worked there together and later came back to Arizona. They spent a couple of years out in Payson where Roberta got a job and Quintero spent time camping out at the rim and Kyyacing at Roosevelt Lake. He loved to camp and enjoyed the outdoors. Roberta retired from her work then they moved to Clifton. At times he would get bored so he would continuously go to Safford to hang around with friends. Quintero was well known and a popular person, outspoken and always helping other people. He made many friends at Safford. Quintero loved to listen to music and his favorite was Guns & Roses "Sweet Child of Mine". Gary Allen was another of his favorites. He was always fun to be around, he made us laugh and had many good stories to tell. We lost a very smart person. Chief will always be in our hearts. Quintero is survived by his companion, Roberta Chavez, 3 children, Jeremy, Joseph & Tasha Gustina, all out of state, 2 sisters and 4 brothers: Shirley (Ronald) Kindelay, of Bylas, Suzanne Leal, of San Carlos, Steve Gustina of Pima, Ryan Gustina of North Carolina, Gerald Gustina of New Mexico, Garner Gustina, Jr of Flagstaff, and numerous nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
