RALPH M. APOSHIAN Ralph & Kathleen Together Again Ralph M. Aposhian, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, early in the morning on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. He was born June 25, 1922 in Murray, Utah to Jacob James Aposhian and Beatrice O'Rullian. He proudly served in the Army during WWII. After the war he married Kathleen Washburn on December 23, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two daughters, Christy and Jenny. His eternal companion, Kathleen, passed away on February 15, 1984. He later married Fern Llewellyn on December 31, 1988. She passed away on December 19, 2003. Ralph had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a joke and an infectious smile. He found joy in the simple things of life like watching a John Wayne movie, listening to country music, or taking a ride in one of his beloved Cadillacs while sporting a new cowboy hat! Ralph retired from Salt Lake County as a truck driver, and in his later years was involved at the Magna Senior Citizens Center. He had a congenial spirit and was most happy when surrounded by his many friends and colleagues. His greatest pride and joy, however, was always his family. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than just watching his grandchildren play. Even though Ralph was homebound for several years, he always insisted that one day he would be well enough to go back to church. He demonstrated a pure faith in the Lord and his belief in the power of prayer on a daily basis. His last words even bore testimony of his love for his Savior and his family. Survived by daughters Christy Aposhian and Jenny Lambert; granddaughters Nicole (Jon) Kerby, Brandi Lambert, Christina (Chad) Anderson, and Carrie (Jesse) Allen; six great-grandchildren, and brothers Bill (Karen), and Bob Barton. Preceded in death by his brothers Donald and Arno Aposhian, sister-in-law Sandra Barton, and his son-in-law Donovan Lambert. Services will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 12:00 McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 prior to the service. Interment: ValleyView Cemetery where Veteran Honors will be given.
