Randi Carothers

December 21, 1944 — March 22, 2008

Randi Jo Carothers Sugar Plum Randi Jo Carothers (Sugar Plum) born December 21, 1994, in Salt Lake City and returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 22, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. She was named after her uncle. Randi was beloved by all who knew her. She was never afraid to try new things or to reach out to new people she met. She was a straight A student who loved her art and math classes at Joel P. Jensen Middle School. Being with her friends and participating in those activities together were her greatest joys. She always seemed to have a smile on her face. She seldom complained about the trials she faced due to her illness. Her biggest wish was that school would start at 10:00 a.m. Randi is survived by her parents, Rick and Lori; brother, Brayden; sisters, Kennedy and Ryan; grandparents, Kent & Susan Carothers, Jim & Linda Baker; aunts and uncles, Angela (Matt)Baker-Spencer, Rick (Lindsy) Baker and Chad (Kiristie) Carothers; cousins and great aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by her GiGi, Lois Skillicorn, G-Pa, Eugene Skillicorn; Unc, Earl Skillicorn; maternal great-grandparents, Merrill & Mary Gilbert; uncle, Randall Joe (Randy Joe) Baker. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Mountain Shadows 1st Ward, 7903 South 2700 West. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. There will also be a brief viewing from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Firefighters Credit Union, 124 West 1400 South, in Randis name. Rick and Lori wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Doctors Susan Etheridge, Melanie Everett, Peter Paulos and the many other doctors and healthcare providers that looked after Randi over the past 13 years.
