Raquel Jenson Martinez 1932 ~ 2009 Raquel Jenson Martinez, age 76, passed away on July 28, 2009 at her cabin near Defas Ranch in the Uintah Mountains where she enjoyed spending time with her son, Steve and many long time friends. Raquel was born December 31, 1932 in Fremont, Utah, the second of 7 children born to Wayne and Ella Jenson. Raquel came to Salt Lake City to attend Beauty School and cut hair the rest of her life. She later met and fell in love with Refugio Sosa Martinez.. They were married June 1, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. Raquel is survived by her sons, Mondel (Julene) Martinez, Steve (Lori) Martinez; sisters, Jeneal (Charlie) Brown, Lois Goetz, Karen Bruce, Diane (Jeff) Ogden; brothers, Bill Jenson and Randy (Marsha) Jenson; grandchildren, Kevin, Wayne, John and Nick Martinez, along with many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Refugio; brothers-in-law, Bill Bruce, Harry Goetz; granddaughter, Heather Martinez. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road on Friday, July 31, 2009 6-8 p.m. Additionally, there will be a celebration of Raquels life to be held at Defas Ranch in Hanna, Utah on Sunday, August 2, 2009, 4-8 p.m.
