Audencio Ray Morales, 87, of Kearny entered into rest on June 8, 2012 in Thatcher, Arizona. He was born on August 31, 1924 in Sonora, Arizona to Rogelio Morales and Josefa Cortez Morales. Ray was a lifelong resident of Arizona, living most of his life in the Ray-Sonora-Kearny area. He worked over forty years in the copper mine of the area, retiring as a foreman in the Precip Plant in June, 1983. He served in the Army Air Force from March, 1944 to July, 1946. He married Esther Apodaca in November, 1953. They had 3 children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Esther; and his son, Leo Hernandez. He is survived by his son, Ramon Tuben (JoAnn) Morales of Thatcher; his daughter, Mary Shelly (Daniel) Melendez of Chandler; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish, 11 Church Ave, in Superior, with Rev. Father James Aboyi as Celebrant. Viewing will start at 9 a.m. with rosary being recited at 10 a.m. prior to Mass. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Superior.
