Raymond O. Fox 1917 ~ 2008 Raymond Olson Fox, husband, hero, father and friend, died June 11, 2008, peacefully in his sleep. Raymond was born October 1, 1917 in Circleville Utah, to Hugh Fox and Lillian Donkin. He liked to smile and had a pleasant greeting for both friends and strangers. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He was a gentle man with a strong moral compass. His loved ones remember him as having an amazing kindness surpassed only by his patience and capacity to love. He spent 56 beautiful, love filled years with his wife, Doreene Fox, who he married July 14, 1951. Their marriage was, and is, one that will be remembered as nothing less than inspiring to all that know them. Raymond was employed by the FAA for 36 years and retired in 1975 when stationed at Salt Lake City International Airport working as an electronic technician. Raymond was, in his younger days, a Utah State champion table tennis player. He was an outstanding father to Michael (Lynette) Fox, Elizabeth (Lawrence) Black, and Douglas Fox and grandfather to eight grandchildren. He was survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and two sisters, Beverly Mathis and Margorie Bird. Grandpa, you will always be in our hearts and minds. We hope to make you proud. The family would like to give a special thanks to South Valley Dialysis Center and asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations please be made to the Kidney Foundation. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
