Richard Boyd

Biography Richard O. Boyd, 70 passed away in Tucson on March 5, 2011. He was born December 27, 1940 in Safford to Richard C. & Katherine Parker Boyd; the oldest of 4 children. He attended school in Ft. Thomas and graduated from Thatcher High School in 1957. During his years in high school, Richard lettered in football and track. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp right out of high school and was a tank gunner & an instructor on the rifle range. Richard received a honorable medical discharge from the service after an accident. He is survived by his sister Lela Ruth (Sam) Williams of Phoenix, brother Dave (Jackie) Boyd of Ft. Thomas, brother Skelly (Gayle) Boyd of Safford and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, March 11, 2011 by Pastor Ken Burk at 1:00 p.m. in the Safford Cemetery.
