Richard W. Christensen 1925 ~ 2010 Richard Wright Christensen, 84, passed away August 24, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born September 28, 1925 in Oak City, Utah, son of Willard Richard and Geneveive Wright Christensen. Served in the US Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. Married Lavon Matson October 10, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Active member of the LDS Church where he served in many callings including a mission to Samoa, several stake missions and, together with his wife, missions to Riverside and San Jose, California. Survived by wife, Lavon; 5 daughters: Mary Catherine (Stephen) Kelsey, Salt Lake City; Carol Madge, Logan; Sheleen (Larry) Lanier, Parowan; Dawn, Murray; Sue Ann (Stephen) Daw, Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters: Roma Henrie and Hazel Humphries. Preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12:00 noon at the Murray 10th Ward, 5750 South Nena Way (100 W.). Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
