Richard Hancock

Funeral services for Richard Noble Hancock, age 50, will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Solomonville Chapel at 10:00 AM. Richard passed away peacefully in his home in Mesa, Arizona on June 22nd after a year-long battle with cancer. Richard was born on August 16, 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona to Ivan F. and Kathryn Tenney Hancock. When Richard was a young boy the family moved to the Gila Valley and settled in the Solomon area. Richard graduated from Safford High School in 1985 and then attended EAC before serving an 18-month mission for the LDS Church in Washington D.C. Following his mission, Richard obtained a private pilots license and then moved to Mesa where he worked for Classy Closets and attended ASUs aeronautical technology program. In January of 1988 Richard married Leann Larson. Richard and Leann moved from Mesa to the Gila Valley in 1989 where Richard went to work for his father in the manufactured housing industry. In 1995 Richard started his own company and for the next 20 years he and his crew installed homes all over southeastern Arizona and western New Mexico. During this time, Richard served as a Boy Scout leader, a member of Civil Air Patrol, and in many capacities in his church. In 2010 Richard moved his family to Mesa where he remained until his death. Richard was well-known for his generosity and his fun personality. He was always willing to help a friend in need and even in his last days, was making sure those around him had what they needed. Richard is survived by his six children, Santana, Nicole (Daniel), Richard Lewis, Jorden, Allie, and Benjamin Franklin; one granddaughter, Alaine Maree Krohn; his parents Ivan F. and Kathryn Tenney Hancock, five siblings, Robert I., Gregory L. (Karla), Eric F. (Emily), Sally (Marshall) McBride, and Jared P. (Krista); and countless nieces, nephews and cousins and all who love him dearly! Friends may call Sunday evening, June 28th from 6:00 until 8:00 at McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel and Monday morning from 8:30 until 9:45 at the Solomonville Chapel in Solomon, Arizona. Concluding services will be held at the Solomon Cemetery.
