Richard Hartner, a beloved Business Owner, passed away January 14, 2024 in Safford, Arizona. He was born on July 31, 1941. Richard's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his surviving family and friends.
Richard grew up in Morenci and graduated from Duncan High School followed by Eastern Arizona College. In 1964, Richard joined the Army with the rank of E-4. His military service showcased his unwavering commitment to serving his country and protecting its values. This dedication exemplified his strong character. He married Karen Duffey on September 2, 1967 in Silver City, New Mexico, he embarked on a successful career as a Business Owner of Dick's Mobil Service. Richard's dedication and hard work allowed him to establish himself as a respected figure within the business community.
Outside of work, Richard had many passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid woodworker and took great pleasure in creating beautiful pieces with his own hands. His craftsmanship was unparalleled, leaving behind cherished heirlooms for his family to remember him by.
One of Richard's greatest joys was spending time with his family, especially during the summer months when he would take his grandchildren to stay with him in Alpine. Those treasured moments created everlasting memories that will be deeply cherished by all who were fortunate enough to experience them.
Richard had an incredible sense of humor and loved sharing jokes with those around him. His infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone he encountered. He had a unique ability to bring smiles to people's faces even during difficult times.
Richard leaves behind daughters Valerie (Brian) Mattice and April (Robert) McGregor, who brought immense joy into his life. His legacy continues through his 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and his siblings Barbara Sack (Jim), Edward Hartner, Michael Hartner (Sheila),1 Half brother, and 3 half Sisters- and their light reminding us of the love and happiness Richard shared.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Karen Hartner, his parents "Red" & "Betty" Hartner, siblings, Michael Hartner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel located at 112 E Main St, Safford, AZ 85546. Friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Richard and Karen are invited to join in remembering and celebrating Their remarkable life together.
With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to Richard Hartner. May his soul find eternal peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
