Richard Lopez

Richard Rodolfo Lopez, 56 of Morenci, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013. He was born July 26, 1957 to Rodolfo T. and Guadalupe C. Lopez of Clifton. Richard was raised in a loving family with his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was known to his family and others as Bubba and Mechanico. Richard attended Morenci High School. During his high school years he played football and his jersey number was #77. After graduating, he attended AAI in Phoenix, Arizona to fulfill his dream of becoming a mechanic. Shortly after completing his certification, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to work as a mechanic. After working as a mechanic for several years, he changed careers and drove Big Rigs coast to coast and was able to see most of the 48 continental United States. Richard enjoyed many hobbies which included, creative cooking, BBQ, ice and fly fishing and many more outdoor activities. Riding his Harley Davidson was his true passion. After 10 years of living on the road, he returned home to Duncan, Arizona where he unexpectedly passed. Richard is survived by his dad, Rodolfo Rudy Lopez; two brothers, Robert Bob and John C. Lopez; and two sisters, Mary Helen Hamilton and Elaine C. Lopez. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford, Arizona. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
