Richard P. Moreno, 74, of Clifton, entered into rest on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his home in Clifton, with loving family by his side. He was born on July 11, 1938 in Morenci, to Antonio and Eulalia Moreno. He married Nancy Lopez on October 10, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Richard grew up in Clifton and Morenci. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country honorably. He worked as a Welder/Boilermaker for Phelps Dodge Mining Company. He drove Schools bus for many years as well. He was an avid Hunter and fisherman, and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 49 years, of Clifton; son, Richard (Andrea) Moreno, Jr. of Mesa; daughters, Lorie Vargas of Mesa, and Judy (Scott) Meader of Cincinnati, OH; siblings, Alice Alivillar, Tony Moreno, Jr., Cindy Lucio, Tommy Moreno, and Inez Weinert; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Teresa Casillas, Esperanza Perez, and Angelita Marquez. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci, with rosary being lead at 10 a.m. at the church. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2012 at Holy Cross, with Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Morenci.
