Richard J. Wright 1925 ~ 2008 Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Richard Wright, age 82, passed away on March 23, 2008. Born November 15, 1925 in Salt lake City, Utah, to Richard Hammond and Nellie Alvina Haynes Wright. Served in the Army during World War II. Married Betty Jean Souter June 11, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served in three bishoprics, two stake presidencies and many, many years with scouting and youth. He has been involved in scouting his whole life. Loved camping, fishing and his puzzles. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife, Betty; children: Christie (Rodney) Steadman, David (Terri) Wright, Charlene (Shawn) Gray; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Herbert Wright. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Jessie Jean Steadman. Funeral services will be Friday, March 28, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville Park Ward, 1555 West Lovely Road (5095 South). Friends and family may gather on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood and at the Church Friday from 10-10:40 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
