Robby Carpenter

Robby L. Carpenter, 86, of Safford, AZ passed away April 18, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born December 10, 1931 in Drew County, Arkansas. He lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas where he was an instructor and department director for the State of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services for 32 years. During that time, he was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. More recently, Mr. Carpenter resided in Queen Creek, AZ where he was a member and deacon at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church and then Safford, Arizona where he was a member and deacon at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Vera Carpenter of Fountain Hill, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patsy Coulter Carpenter of Safford, AZ; a daughter, Robbie Carpenter McGill (Ronnie) of Queen Creek, AZ; two sons, F. Owen Carpenter (Camellia) of Hot Springs, AR and W. Michael Carpenter (Paula) of Safford, AZ; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Safford, AZ with Bob Pogue officiating; Funeral arrangements were under the direction of McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Home in Safford, AZ; and a military interment at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. A Memorial service will be held at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg, AR on Thursday, April 26 at 2:00p. Memorial donations may be made to the Missions Fund at Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 910 W Cholla Dr, Safford, AZ 85546.
