Robert Mac Adams 1944 2009 Robert M. Adams returned home to his Heavenly Father after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children, March 17, 2009. He lived a long full life surrounded by his family. Robert was born July 12, 1944 in Standardville, Utah to James and Rosa Mae Adams. He spent his childhood adventuring in the outdoors around Manti, Utah as well as along the Oregon coast.Robert loved his country and served in the armed forces. He served two tours of duty in Viet Nam with the Army. He also was a member of the Air Force and was honorably discharged from the service. He received many commendations during his years of military service. Robert was active in the LDS church throughout his life. He loved participating in the Boy Scout program and mentored many young men through his work as a scout leader. He received such joy from spending time camping, hiking, fishing and exploring. He loved to serve in any capacity that he was called to. He supported two sons as they served missions for the church. One of his proudest moments was when he was called to serve as a missionary in the Family History center in Salt Lake City, UT. Robert was a loving husband and father. He married Meta Klohoker Adams March 27, 1970 and had four amazing children: Robert (Nikki) Adams, Lore (Mike) Cooper, Jake (Liz) Adams, and Elizabeth Adams. He has ten wonderful grandchildren who were the highlight of his life. He is also survived by his brothers: John Dean (Marilyn) Adams and Vee Moroni (Marilee) Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jim. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11;00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 1555 West Lovely Road, Taylorsville, UT where a viewing will be held Wednesday, 7-9:00 p.m. and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services will be held at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
