Robert Bolinger

ROBERT "BOB" C. BOLINGER Robert "Bob" C. Bolinger, 72, of Pima, Arizona passed away at his home Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a brave battle with cancer, with his wife by his side. Bob was the son of Charles William Bolinger "Bud" and Lillian Jewel Dunham, born on August 23, 1944 in Safford, Arizona. Bob graduated from Pima High School in 1962, where he played football and even went to State. Bob enlisted in "Uncle Sam's Navy" soon after graduating, where he spent 20 plus years traveling the lands and waters of the world. Bob married Kathy Matthews in June of 1968; they had three children Ronnie, Donnie, and Tammy Lynn. Fire works ignited when Bob later married Donna J. Curtis Shay on July 4, 1988; this July they would have been married for 29 years. Bob was a hard worker, he never sat idle for long, after retiring from the Navy, he worked at the Department of Corrections, Swift Trucking, Phelps Dodge, Vista Recycling and drove truck for Scott Sanders. He loved spending time in his shop as a "shade tree mechanic". If there was a problem he would fix it or solve it by building his own. He was ingenious with vehicles, rails or anything with wheels or motors; this amazed Donna. His love of Fords was well known. Bob will be remembered for his love of family, helping others, and his generosity. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; going RV'ing and riding in his excessively modified rail; watching Nascar and San Diego Chargers Football. Bob always mentioned wanting to move to a cooler, wetter climate to get out of the dust and the wind of the hot Arizona desert, but could not quite fathom the thought of leaving his beloved Pima, Arizona. Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; his children Ronnie (Debra) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Donnie of Pima; and Tammy Lynn of Safford; Tracy Hadfield (Colin) of Logan, Utah; Susan Serna (Richard) of Pima; grandchildren Breanna "Breezy", Brandon, Robby, Bretton, Nathan, David, William, Noelani, Alex, Chris and his sister, Dixie Warmington (Bill) along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Also survived by his favorite "Black Sheep" Aunt, Bertha Holly of Globe. Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, Lillian Jewel Dunham and Charles "Bud" Bolinger. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel with a viewing 1 hour prior at 9:00 a.m.
