Robert Gordon Schaller, "Dr. Bob", 64 of Clifton, passed away at his home on November 3, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1946 in Everett, Washington to Gordon William and Bernice Mary (Jagoditsch) Schaller. He married Rosemarie Mena on August 24, 2000 in Duncan, AZ. Robert served his country in the US Navy for 26 years. He graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., as a Physicians Assistant, while serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a Corpsman for the Marine Corps and as a Medical Officer on various ships during the Vietnam War. In 1999 he came to Morenci and continued to practice at the Morenci Health Care Center. He enjoyed small towns and served as Councilman and as Vice Mayor for the Town Clifton. Dr. Bob has traveled all over the world and returned to Clifton after being diagnosed with cancer. He treasured the area and the people and called Clifton his home. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie Schaller, of Clifton; children - Jonathan Q Schaller, Christina Schaller, Karen (Chevy) Camacho, Sandra Garcia, and James (Sonja) Garcia; parents - Bernice and step-father John Campbell; Siblings - Fred (Doris) Schaller, David (Janet) Schaller, and Linda (Dick) Regan; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Gordon William Schaller. Rosary and Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton. To honor Dr. Bobs wishes, his ashes will be scattered at sea.
