Robert Bob Schelin 1932 ~ 2009 On February 23, 2009 two lifelong soul mates were reunited when Robert Maurice Schelin passed away to meet his wife, Theresa, on the far side of the moon. Bob was born September 24, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edwin and Mildred Cutler Schelin. He graduated early from school and fibbed about his age to enlist in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After serving in Okinawa, he was shipped stateside to South Dakota where he met the love of his life, Terry. They were married on Valentines Day in 1953. Although their children are heartbroken by his sudden death, they are glad Dad is finally with his better half. Bob is survived by his children: Debbie (Kent) Mair, Kathie (Craig) Hedin, Mike (Anita) Schelin, Mark Schelin and Steve (Julie) Schelin; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Diane Selim, Meri (Jerry) OShell; brothers: Ray (Mary) Schelin, Evan (Holly) Schelin. He will be deeply missed by everyone and forever remembered as the gruff-voiced Grandpa with the marshmallow heart. Services celebrating his life will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Dad, well see you and Mom on the far side of the moon!
