Roger Kent Daley, age 52, a resident of Thatcher, passed away December 18, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends at UMC in Tucson due to complications of his kidneys and heart. He was born February 4, 1964 to Kent and Marion Daley in Safford, Arizona.
He attended Thatcher Schools and was known as Red Rider. Soon after graduation he served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kobe, Japan. After returning home, while attending EAC, he met and married Babette Justice. They were married in the Mesa Arizona LDS temple on November 14, 1985. Together they have six children and eight grandchildren.
In 1986 Roger graduated from EAC with a degree in Business Administration and he later graduated from Western New Mexico University with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. In 1992, he partnered with his brother-in-law and started Pizza Edge in Kayenta, AZ on the Navajo Indian Reservation, where they lived for six years. In late 1993, he founded R&R Pizza Express and opened restaurants in 3 states.
Roger served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including the High Council, Elder's Quorum President, Stake Young Men's President, Scout Master, Primary and Sunday School Teacher. He loved working with the youth and influenced many lives by his example.
Roger is survived by his wife Babette, his children; Chantelle (Jory) Rhoton, Danielle (Bryce) Carter, Derek (Sterling), Brielle, Chad and Raquelle Daley, six grandchildren and his siblings; Lori Rhinehart, Melanie Morris, Linda Molitor and Nelson Daley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Marion Daley and his twin granddaughters, Madison and McKenzie Rhoton.
Services for Roger will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 beginning with a viewing at 12:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Thatcher Stake Center. Interment will be in the Thatcher Cemetery.
