Ronald Milton Gifford 1931 ~ 2008 Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at home, surrounded by his family, March 26, 2008 in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born September 6, 1931 in Emmett, Idaho to Ruby McLing and Emmett Gifford. He married Charlotte Faye Boothe June 5, 1973 in Wendover, NV. Dad loved to go fishing to allow his wife the opportunity to out fish him. He also enjoyed deer hunting because Charlotte enjoyed watching the deer so much. Dad loved training hunting dogs and enjoyed pheasant hunting with his sons. He was accomplished at golfing and bowling and enjoyed these activities with his family and neighbors. As the children grew up and moved out, they filled their home with animals that became part of the family. Dad loved to work, after retiring he continued to work a yard maintenance business with his son, Scott, and grandsons. Dad honorably served his country during the Korean War and was proud to be a veteran. The family extends a special thanks to the many neighbors who looked after him showing love and concern. He is survived by his children: Sharon Clemons, Sherri (Rick) Mounteer, Steven (Kimberly) Boothe, Scott (Connie) Boothe; siblings, Carmen Bratcher, Valnita Wilson and Karen Reynolds; grandchildren: Ryan, Brady, Brint, Sam, Jonathan, Ricky, Kylee, Taylor, Zackary, Karson, Braeden and Garrett; great-grandchildren: Colten, Hunter, Charlotte and Ricky. Preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Gifford; parents and grandparents: sister, Elda Ruby; brothers: Emmett Galen, James Dallas, and Glenn Gary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. It was important to Dad to finish life the right way which was manifested through his softened heart, generosity with his time, and love towards his family.
