Ronald Harrington

Biography Ronald W. Harrington, 76, of Safford, passed away July 6, 2014 in Tucson, AZ. Ronald was born April 26, 1938 to Leslie & Ella Motes Harrington in Safford, AZ. Ronald graduated from Safford High School in 1956 and then went on to attend a barber College in Phoenix where he earned his Associates Degree. In 1960 me met and married the love of his life, Barbara Stebbins in Lordsburg, NM. They raised 2 children; Kathy & Paul. They moved to Morenci where he ran the barber shop until he began working for Phelps Dodge. He worked for Phelps Dodge as a supervisor and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Elks Club, the Boy Scouts of America, Greenlee County Search & Rescue, a volunteer for the Department of Public Safety and a volunteer EMT. In his free time he loved hunting and fishing but above all he had a strong belief in taking care of his family and friends. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, children; Kathy (Robert) Smith and Paul (Mireya) Harrington, grandchildren; Laura Turman, Melanie Hardt, Paul R. Harrington and Brian J. Harrington, great-grandchildren; Damian Sparks, Ethan Hardt and Ayden Fisher, nieces; Marissa Harrington Terri Scrahan and LeAnn Tuiser, nephews; Mark Allen, Scott Allen & Dennis Allen and Uncle Nathan Motes. He was preceded in death by his parents; Leslie & Ella Harrington, and grandchildren; Michael and Thomas Jay Brutcher.
