Rosa Ruiz

Rosa Cienfuegos Ruiz, 74, passed away peacefully at her home with her family in Tucson, Arizona, November 25, 2011. She was born on September 4, 1937 in Thatcher, Arizona. She was the oldest of 11 children born to Juan Chavez Ruiz, Jr. and Barbara Burruel Cienfuegos. After graduation from Safford High School in 1957 she moved to Southern California where she worked as a Dental Assistant to an Oral Surgeon. She returned to Arizona in 1980 where she remained for the remainder of her life. Rosa was a loving, devoted Mother who enjoyed visiting and being with her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family, her friends and all whose hearts she touched. She is survived by her Father, Juan; son, Brian (Michelle; brothers, Robert, Rudy (Samantha), Raymond, Ruben (Ida), Richard (Gloria) and John; sisters, Rachel (Thomas) Pollack, Rebecca (Danny) Valenzuela, Rita Ruiz and Rosana Ruiz; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Pavlica and Cynthia Jeckewicz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Barbara; daughter, Barbara Jean; sisters-in-law, Louisa Montez Ruiz and Paula Atencio Ruiz; nieces, Stephanie Heather Ruiz and Jacquita Delores Ruiz. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford with Father Edward Lucero as celebrant. Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass at 10:00 a.m at the Church. Interment will be at the Thatcher cemetery in Thatcher, Arizona immediately following Mass. There will be no viewing.
