Ross Montgomery

Ross R. Montgomery 1929 ~ 2008 Ross Robert Montgomery left this earthly existence January 28, 2008. He was born September 23, 1929 in Blakely, PA to Harry Elmer and Blanche Robertson Montgomery. He moved to Utah at the age of 15. Married Marjorie Moon June 5, 1953 in Salt Lake City and they had eight children. Ross worked at various jobs during his lifetime, mostly at Salt Lake County Roads and Bridges, 1962-77 where he worked first as a mechanic in the shops and then as a machinist. He also was self-employed as an electronic technician, repairing electronic and mechanical controls, medical equipment, and radiation equipment. He became known around the area as a person who could fix or calibrate almost any kind of equipment. Ross is survived by his wife; sons: James, West Valley City; Kurt (Daisha), West Jordan; daughters: Elizabeth (Charles) Carothers, West Valley City; Teresa Mickelsen, Taylorsville; Janine Jorgensen, Holladay; Nanette (Gary) Houghton, Grantsville; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray, Smith Center, KS; sister, Mabel Hamilton, Dickson City, PA. Preceded in death by his parents; oldest son, Robbie; youngest daughter, Karen; brother, Harry Jr.; sisters: Ruth Smith, Georgia Greenlaw and Edith Ackman. The family wishes to thank Pinnacle Hospice for their care. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12;00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
